  • Company Name
    Cochi –Wooden Architecture Inc.

    伝統構法の石場建て東風
  • Origin of the Company Name
Our name reflects our commitment to sharing traditional Japanese timber architecture and culture with the world, starting from the East.
“Cochi”, meaning "east wind" or "spring breeze," comes from a poem by Sugawara no Michizane featured in the Shūi Wakashū, an ancient Japanese poetry anthology.

  • Philosophy
For beautiful landscapes, even 300 years from now.
At Cochi – Wooden Architecture, our mission is to build with care—for people, the earth, and the future.
We use natural materials that return to the earth, crafting buildings that are timelessly beautiful, strong, and humble.
The techniques and spirit behind this craft have been passed down through generations and are a proud part of Japanese culture.
Through buildings that will be loved for centuries to come, we aim to create enduring landscapes that resonate with nature and humanity—locally and globally.

    Our Office
Our office is a renovated 110-year-old traditional farmhouse that had been unoccupied for 50 years.

A video is available explaining our design philosophy and how we strive to create architecture that will be loved for 300 years.
